EASL Tip-Off 2025 features a doubleheader in Taipei and the league’s first-ever game in Tokyo

Hong Kong SAR — EASL Tip-Off 2025 is set for October 8, 2025, with games tipping off in both Taipei and Tokyo. A doubleheader will take place at Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium, while Alvark Tokyo will host Mongolia’s Xac Broncos in the league’s 1st-ever game in Japan’s capital.

“When searching for a tip-off location, why not choose 2 beautiful, basketball-crazed cities?” said EASL Chief Executive Officer Henry Kerins. “On October 8, the B.LEAGUE vs. P. LEAGUE+ rivalry returns with a rematch of the 2025 Final Four semifinals in Taipei, while Tokyo will host a historic showdown between two EASL newcomers.”

In Taipei, the action opens with the B.LEAGUE champions Utsunomiya Brex against the P. LEAGUE+ runners-up Taipei Fubon Braves. Utsunomiya, the club with the most championships in B.LEAGUE history, is led by veteran star Makoto Hiejima and will face a fierce Fubon side that came up just short in a hard-fought seven-game finals series and features Chinese Taipei legend Lin Chih-Chieh.

The 2nd game of the Taipei doubleheader will feature a rematch of last season’s EASL Final Four semifinal, as P. LEAGUE+ champions Taoyuan Pauian Pilots take on Japan’s Emperor’s Cup champions Ryukyu Golden Kings. In their last meeting, Taoyuan defeated Ryukyu 71–64 in a hard-fought playoff battle. Now, in their 2025–26 season opener, Ryukyu is looking for revenge, while Taoyuan aims to win a second straight over one of Asia’s elite teams.

Utsunomiya vs. Taipei Fubon starts at 6:30 P.M. HKT, followed by Taoyuan vs. Ryukyu at 8:30 P.M. HKT.

In Tokyo, the spotlight shifts to Alvark Tokyo vs. Xac Broncos at KEIO ARENA TOKYO, beginning at 6:00 P.M. HKT, marking EASL’s first-ever game in Japan’s capital. Alvark, one of the B.LEAGUE’s biggest brands with a huge fanbase, will face the Broncos, making their EASL debut after winning back-to-back titles in the Mongolian Basketball Association’s “The League.”

Ticket sales for EASL Tip-Off 2025 will launch in early September for both the Taipei games (https://tix.fubonbraves.com/UTK0101_) and the Tokyo game (https://www.alvark-tokyo.jp/).
