EASL Releases Full Schedule And Groupings For 2025–26

(Press Release)
The season will feature 12 teams across three groups, with 42 games on the schedule.
Hong Kong SAR — The East Asia Super League (EASL) has announced its full schedule and groupings for the 2025–26 season. From Oct. 8 to March 22, 12 of the continent’s top basketball teams will compete in 42 games for the title of Asia’s champion.
Now entering its 3rd season, the league continues to grow. After starting with 8 teams and 28 games in its inaugural 2023–24 campaign, EASL expanded to 10 teams and 34 games last season. For 2025–26, the league jumps to 12 teams and 42 games, with competition split across 3 groups instead of 2.

Group A features the Utsunomiya Brex, Taipei Fubon Braves, Seoul SK Knights and Hong Kong Eastern. Utsunomiya enters as Japan’s newly-crowned B. LEAGUE champion. Taipei and Seoul both finished runner-up in the P. LEAGUE+ and KBL, respectively, while Eastern returns for a 2nd straight season as champions of Hong Kong SAR.
Group B features the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, Ryukyu Golden Kings, the Macau Black Bears, and a representative from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to be announced. Taoyuan enters as the reigning P. LEAGUE+ champion, while Ryukyu returns after advancing to the B. LEAGUE Finals for the fourth consecutive year. The Black Bears join as the champions of Macau SAR.
Group C brings together the Changwon LG Sakers, New Taipei Kings, Alvark Tokyo and Xac Broncos. Changwon just won its 1st KBL championship. New Taipei returns having proven themselves as one of Chinese Taipei’s top teams with titles in both the P. LEAGUE+ and TPBL. Tokyo is one of the biggest markets and fanbases in Japan’s B.LEAGUE, entering EASL through the new expansion rule after reaching the Emperor’s Cup final, while Mongolia’s Xac Broncos make their debut after winning Mongolia’s “The League.”
In total, the 12 teams come from 7 different territories, with 3 teams from Japan, 3 from Chinese Taipei, 2 from South Korea and 1 each from Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, the Philippines and Mongolia.

For the first time, the season will also feature weekend games. While most matchups will still take place on Wednesdays, select games will now be held on Saturdays and Sundays to improve fan access.
The 2025–26 EASL season tips off on Wednesday, Oct. 8 with 3 games, including a doubleheader in Taipei and the league’s 1st-ever game in Tokyo. One of the opening night highlights will be a rematch between Taoyuan and Ryukyu, who met in last season’s Final Four.
Other key moments in the regular season include EASL’s first game in Mongolia, set for Saturday, Nov. 1, as the Xac Broncos host New Taipei. Ryukyu and New Taipei — now in their 3rd consecutive EASL season as the league’s longest-standing participants — will each play their first home game on Wednesday, Oct. 22, with Ryukyu facing a PBA opponent and New Taipei hosting Tokyo. While there won’t be a Christmas Day game this year, fans can look forward to a Christmas Eve matchup in Taipei between the Taipei Fubon Braves and Seoul SK Knights. More details on the league's annual Midseason Classic will be announced soon.
EASL's postseason format is also evolving. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to a new Round of 6, replacing the Final Four setup from previous seasons. It all leads to a single championship game to close out the season.
