The 2024-25 Champions of Mongolia’s ‘The League’ will represent the Mongolian Basketball Association (MBA) in East Asia Super League 

Hong Kong SAR – EASL is proud to announce that Mongolia’s top professional basketball league, ‘The League,’ will join EASL for the 2025-26 season and beyond. Representing Mongolia will be the champion team from the current 2024-25 season, marking a major milestone for the sport in the region.

This expansion represents a significant milestone for EASL as the league continues to unite the top basketball teams across Asia. With the addition of Mongolia, EASL now features champions from leagues across the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, and Macau SAR, establishing itself as the pinnacle of basketball competition in Asia. Announcements regarding additional leagues joining for the 2025-26 campaign are expected soon.

Partnering with Mongolia’s ‘The League’ ensures that EASL teams will compete against strong, well-prepared opponents, raising the level of the game for everyone involved.”

For the first time, the best teams from our professional league will compete against Asia’s basketball powerhouses, highlighting our talent, resilience, and dedication to the sport,” said Secretary General of the Mongolian Basketball Association (MBA), Mr. Tugsjargal Sambuu. “This opportunity not only elevates our league and the level of competition but also serves as a powerful inspiration for a new generation of players and fans in Mongolia. We are thrilled to showcase Mongolia’s basketball talent to hundreds of millions of fans across Asia.”

Mongolia’s ‘The League,’ which celebrated its 30th anniversary during the 2024-25 season, consists of 10 teams. Basketball is the largest sports in Mongolia, with over half of the population of the country identifying as a fan, and with the professional league experiencing significant growth over the last few years.

This partnership is a significant step forward for basketball in Asia. By uniting the region’s top leagues and teams under one umbrella, EASL continues to elevate the game and demonstrate the power of collaboration in growing the sport to new heights.
