Jordan Brand brought back its global one-on-one basketball tournament, dubbed "The One," with regional qualifiers held worldwide. One of its tournament qualifiers was held recently in Manila on June 28, at Jordan Manila's Flight Deck, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Bonn Daja of De La Salle Zobel and Rhiane Perez of the UST Junior Growling Tigresses claimed the right to represent the Philippines and move on to compete against the best one-on-one ballers from 15 cities worldwide at the global finals in New York City in August. Jordan Brand athlete Kiefer Ravena praised Daja and Perez for winning the Manila hoops tournament.

"Siyempre, sobrang nakakatuwa, kasi parang minsan lang kami dito and nakaka experience kami ng event na ito tulad ng The One. I’m sure lahat ng mga sumali dito and who will be able to represent the country," Ravena said in an exclusive interview with Sporty Noob. "Ngayon yung dalawang players natin, si [Bonn Daja and Rhiane Perez], na magsasali sa New York, so well-deserved silang parehas."

The B.League Filipino import wasn't surprised by the high level of competition at the Manila leg of Jordan Brand's basketball event.

"Ah well, sobrang intense yan, kasi isipin mo, you have a chance not only go to New York but at the same time represent the country. Marami namang bata dyan na nangangarap lang na masuot yung jersey ng Pilipinas tapos kalabanin yung mga player ng ibang bansa," Ravena said. "And I’m sure, patayan talaga, lahat yan. So nakita naman na ang taas ng level ng competition. So, hindi na ako nagulat."

Kiefer Ravena on Jordan Brand's The One event: 'Community-based, bringing everybody closer together'

Manila's finest ballers, De La Salle University Zobel's Bonn Daja and UST's Rhiane Perez, came out on top and earned the right to represent the Philippines at the recently concluded Jordan Brand "The One" hoops one-on-one hoops event held at Jordan Manila's Flight Deck in BGC, Taguig City on June 28, 2025. Kiefer Ravena acknowledged the Filipinos' love for Jordan sneakers. He applauded Jordan Brand for organizing a community-based hoops event that brought together streetballers and sneakerheads alike in the Philippines.

"You know, sobrang community-based talaga eh. And alam nanaman natin na mahal ng mga Pilipino ang Jordan [Brand]," expressed the former Ateneo Blue Eagle. "So, with Jordan [Brand] bringing everybody closer together, streetball vibes, you know, party, and everybody else, kaya sobrang solid."
