Matthew Wright Honored To Give Back To The Community At Recent B.LEAGUE Hope ASIA HOOP FESTIVAL 2025 In Manila
Former Kawasaki Brave Thunders guard Matthew Wright was one of the headliners of the recently concluded B.LEAGUE Hope ASIA HOOP FESTIVAL 2025 held in Bonifacio Global City, Manila, last November. During the B.League's event in the country, Wright participated as one of the coaches of B.Hope ASIA Jr. Clinic for kids.
Though no longer playing in Japan, Wright was honored to be invited by the B.League to run a basketball clinic for the kids at the event in Manila.
"I mean, it's an honor. I love giving back to the community," the former B.League Asian import said. "I love running camps for kids. Like I said, you know, I was a little kid once upon a time, I would have loved to have a pro come in and run a camp and help me out. I didn't have that growing up."
"So, I want to be the one to provide that for the young kids, and that I inspired one of these kids to dream big and to take that shot to make it to that next level," he added.

Former PBA star Matthew Wright is open to playing in any league, not just the B.League
Filipino-Canadian Matthew Wright is once again playing hoops on the international stage with Gilas Pilipinas at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand. Currently a free agent, the former PBA star is open to playing for any league, not just in Japan.
"Oh, absolutely. I'm open to any league, it's not just B.League," Wright said during an interview with local media at the recently concluded B.LEAGUE Hope ASIA HOOP FESTIVAL 2025 in Manila last November. "But you know, Japan, we had a great 3 years there. My family enjoyed it. My son, my wife – we all love Japan, and you know, everything about Japan. So, if there's an offer, of course, we're going to entertain it."
"But, that's just not exclusive to just Japan, you know. I'm a free agent, and I have the right to explore any team, league, or country that I feel is appropriate," the former B.League player stressed.
