With deep roots in Asian sports and media, Zecha is set to take EASL to new heights.

Hong Kong SAR — East Asia Super League (EASL) proudly named Adam Zecha as General Manager on June 1, 2025. A seasoned executive with a track record of scaling sports and media ventures across Asia, Adam steps into the role with a clear mission: to guide EASL into its next phase of growth and establish it as the premier basketball league in the region.

“Adam has been one of the key leaders driving EASL’s growth, and his appointment as General Manager is a natural next step,” said Henry Kerins, Chief Executive Officer of East Asia Super League. “His vision and experience will help take the league to new heights across the region.”

As General Manager, Adam oversees a dynamic league uniting top teams from Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Mongolia. Now entering its third season, EASL is focused on expanding its competitive footprint, deepening fan engagement, and raising the standard of professional basketball in Asia.

Under Adam’s leadership, EASL is preparing to launch Future Champions, a regional youth development platform focused on nurturing elite grassroots talent, with more details to be announced soon. The league also secured a partnership with the U.S.-based BIG3 in early June— founded by Ice Cube — to bring the action-packed 3-on-3 format to Asia in 2026.

Adam originally joined EASL in February 2024 as VP, Head of Commercial & Broadcast Production & Operations, just before the end of the league’s inaugural season. Since then, he has played a critical role in driving growth, helping to significantly increase league revenue between Seasons 1 and 2. He also secured key broadcast and streaming partnerships, expanding EASL’s global footprint to 190 territories with a potential reach of 1.2 billion viewers.

With 25+ years of executive leadership in the sports, media, and entertainment industries, Adam brings deep expertise in building commercial strategies, launching digital-first initiatives, and delivering revenue-generating partnerships across APAC, South Asia, and Oceania. His career spans leadership roles at Singtel, CSI Sports, ESPN STAR Sports / FOX International, ISC S/B, and Asia Business News (now CNBC Asia).

Throughout his career, Adam has:

  • Recruited and led cross-cultural distribution and ad sales teams across Asia-Pacific.
  • Secured many strategic partnerships with top media and sports organizations, unlocking new audiences and revenue streams.
  • Championed digital transformation for sports and media brands across Asia.
  • Delivered monetization strategies for global sports rights, including the NBA, FIFA World Cup, EPL, UEFA, AFC, Olympics, Tennis Slams, Golf Majors, and F1.
  • Led groundbreaking event launches including ESPN X Games, Mobile ESPN, and One Championship.

“We’re not just growing a league—we’re growing the basketball culture of Asia,” Zecha said. “That means creating a league that reflects the region’s energy, diversity, and ambition. From elite teams to future stars, we’re building something lasting for players, fans, and partners.”
