For the 3rd straight season, the Meralco Bolts will serve as the PBA’s representative in EASL.

Hong Kong SAR — The Meralco Bolts have qualified for the 2025–26 EASL season, serving as the PBA’s (Philippine Basketball Association) lone representative for the upcoming campaign. This marks the Bolts’ third consecutive EASL appearance, joining Japan’s Ryukyu Golden Kings and Chinese Taipei’s New Taipei Kings as just the 3rd team to achieve this feat.

Meralco made its EASL debut in the league’s inaugural 2023–24 season and, despite their struggles in international play, bounced back the following domestic campaign with a historic run — winning their 1st-ever PBA conference championship, the 2024 Philippine Cup, by defeating the San Miguel Beermen in the Finals. That triumph secured their return to EASL for the 2024–25 season.

This past EASL campaign, Meralco built on its domestic success and came within reach of a Final Four berth. The Bolts reached the midseason break with a 2–1 record, including victories over the Macau Black Bears and Korea’s Busan KCC Egis. However, they dropped their final 3 games, including a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to eventual 3rd-place finishers, the New Taipei Kings — a win that would have secured them a spot in the postseason.

With Meralco’s qualification confirmed, the 12-team field for the 2025–26 EASL season is now complete. The Bolts have been drawn into Group B, alongside last year’s Final Four teams — the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots and Ryukyu Golden Kings — as well as the Macau Black Bears.
