Seoul SK Knights, Changwon LG Sakers Qualify For East Asia Super League’s 2025-26 Season

(Press Release)
SK Knights rejoin EASL, LG Sakers set for league debut as Korean Basketball League (KBL) representatives.
Hong Kong SAR — The Seoul SK Knights and Changwon LG Sakers will represent the KBL in the 2025-26 East Asia Super League season. Seoul returns to EASL after a one-season absence, having competed in the inaugural 2023-24 campaign, while LG will make its league debut. Both teams secured qualification by reaching the KBL Finals.
Seoul’s road back to EASL has been dominant. The Knights finished the regular season 41-13 to earn the No. 1 overall seed and a bye to the semifinals, where they swept the Suwon KT Sonicboom 3-0. Changwon’s path was equally impressive, finishing 34-20 to secure the No. 2 seed before sweeping Hyundai Mobis Phoebus 3-0 to punch their ticket to the Finals.
While the LG Sakers will be making their first EASL appearance, Seoul brings experience, having finished as runners-up in the 2023-24 season after falling to Japan’s Chiba Jets. That year, the Knights posted a 4-2 record to top Group B before making a run to the championship game.
Seoul and Changwon replace last year’s KBL representatives, the Busan KCC Egis and Suwon KT Sonicboom, who went a combined 4-8 in the 2024-25 season and failed to reach the Final Four. It was a contrast to the 2023-24 campaign, when two KBL teams — Seoul SK and the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters — advanced to the Final Four.
The KBL Finals best-of-seven series between Seoul and LG is set to tip-off on May 5.
